இது பெரும்பாலும் சரியான breastfeeding latch இல்லாததால் ஏற்படும். ஆரம்பத்திலேயே கவனித்தால் பெரும்பாலான நேரங்களில் எளிதில் சரியாகும்.
முக்கிய காரணங்கள்
1. தவறான latch
குழந்தை nipple மட்டும் பிடித்து பால் குடித்தால் உராய்வு அதிகரித்து வெடிப்பு ஏற்படும்.
2. Dry skin
அடிக்கடி soap பயன்படுத்துவது அல்லது skin dryness அதிகமாக இருப்பது cracking ஏற்படுத்தலாம்.
3. Breast pump பிரச்சினை
அதிக suction அல்லது தவறான flange size nipple injury ஏற்படுத்தலாம்.
4. Fungal infection
Thrush infection இருந்தால் burning pain, redness, shiny skin போன்றவை இருக்கலாம்.

முலைப்பகுதியை அடிக்கடி soap அல்லது harsh cleanser கொண்டு கழுவ வேண்டாம். சாதாரண வெதுவெதுப்பான தண்ணீர் போதுமானது.
பாலூட்டுவதை நிறுத்த வேண்டுமா?
பெரும்பாலான cracked nipple பிரச்சினைகளில் breastfeeding நிறுத்த வேண்டிய அவசியம் இருக்காது. ஆனால் வலி மிகவும் அதிகமாக இருந்தால், pus, fever, breast swelling, fungal infection suspicion இருந்தால் மருத்துவரை அணுக வேண்டும்.
எப்போது மருத்துவரை பார்க்க வேண்டும்?
- வலி தாங்க முடியாத அளவில் இருந்தால்
- ரத்தம் தொடர்ந்து வந்தால்
- முலைப்பகுதியில் pus அல்லது அதிக சிவப்பு இருந்தால்
- காய்ச்சல் அல்லது breast swelling இருந்தால்
- குழந்தைக்கும் வாயில் white patches இருந்தால்
- சிகிச்சை செய்தும் 3–5 நாட்களில் குறையவில்லை என்றால்
